indecisive yet independent

blonde moment of the day: i was looking at disney world pics from my brothers honeymoon, and i came across a pic of the inside of "its a small world". i was like huh i thought jennifer said they werent planning on riding that...guess they changed their minds! then a few minutes later, we were listening to a disney cd they had and that song came on lol. so i said "oh yah i saw the pic of this in ur album." blank stares all around. jennifer said "ummm elaine we didnt ride that." and i said "are u sure? i know it was that ride. there were little chinese kids everywhere!" more stares and looks were exchanged (the kind of looks that say "well elaine is crazy...") ha so i found the pic, and it was a POSTCARD. i was the only one who found this humorous. but in my defense, the postcard was mixed in with the photos, and it looked like a normal person photo. except that they would have had to have jumped out of the boat to take it.

so, apparently not all servers at restaurants know general etiquette. a group of us were at cheddars for jonathans bday, and i was sitting in a booth between jonathan and jeremy. server came and asked what we wanted to drink, and i looked at jonathan so he could go first then we could do a circle (which is usually how it works.....) anyways so jonathan ordered, and then the server turned to jeremy and was like "and u sir?" lol he SKIPPED me!! and im a girl for goodness sakes! lol THEN he asked me for my drink, and when he walked away jeremy and i looked eachother and were like what the heck....? lol jeremy looks like a boy. i look like a girl. i was next. it isnt rocket science. only possible explanation is that he, uh, likes boys.

random FYI: one horsepower is the amount of power it takes to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. it would actually take one and a half horses to do this. also, mountain goats are not actually goats. they are small antelopes.

"Disappear" by jars of clay

I watch you smile
You steal the show
You take a bow
The curtain falls in front of you
You're magical, on display
I gaze into your eyes and
You turn to look the other way

But I'd really love to know
I'd really love to climb
My way into your heart
And see what I could find
I'd walk into your skin
Swim through your veins
See it from your eyes
I'd really love to try...yeah

Standing still, but in my mind
Trying to escape
Looking for a place to hide
Well it's not safe but I'm so near
Invading every place you go
To disappear

I'd really love to know
I really want to climb
Into your soul
Walk into your skin
Swim through your veins
See it from your eyes
I'd really love to try
I'd really love to tr

Yeah I wanna get inside the you
You're hiding from
Yeah I wanna get inside the you
You're hiding from
I wanna get inside the you
That you are hiding from

getting promoted while being unemployed takes talent!

haha, so ive had my 2 months of unemployment and directionless wanderings, and lo and behold, i get a phone call from pacsun saying the store manager had quit and they want ME to consider coming back/being promoted, since i was only co-manager before!! haha so i talked with my dm, and i said "more money, little committment" and ill think about it. i would obviously get a raise, which is good cuz time at home = ebay, and id really only be staying through the summer or until i find a suitable replacement and have them trained (which would be pretty difficult, good people are hard to find). so anyways, i have some praying to do, since i need to know by monday if im going to accept it or not. and, there goes my social life again! and my weekends! boo!

pain (sometimes) = money

so, since we have some inability to find jobs, jessica and i have decided to sell as much of our plasma as possible to pay for our upcoming events. namely, edgefest, six flags/relientk, and of course, the mystery vacation! woot! but like i said, we have to sell plasma....i am not looking forward to this. im not as afraid of needles as i used to be (being poked around 15 times in under 10 minutes when they are trying to give morphine and IV's to ya will do the trick) but still.....oh well it will be worth it!

miracles

if you dont believe in modern day miracles, how can you have any hope?

i was on my way to houston to pretty much say good-bye to a friend who had been told she had maybe a week to live. she had been struggling with cancer the last few months, and it had spread to her stomach and brain, and the doctors told her there was nothing else they could do. long story short, we got to houston and found out that she had been to the doctor that day, and the tumors in her stomach and brain were completely gone. there is no medical explanation of course, just the fact that she has had thousands of people praying for her. she is an amazing witness and has already had an amazing impact on many people. i guess i was to the point where i didnt think God heard my prayers, but events like this just prove that He can do anything, and does answer prayer even when it doesnt seem like He hears us. Amen!

i am now back from my trip to north carolina/tennessee, and i am also jobless! its great! i can do whatever i want, whenever i want! lol i think im enjoying it too much, its going to be hard to go back to work (whenever i find a job), unless of course, i find a job i LIKE! what a concept.

im also planning little trips to see some family and friends...arkansas, houston, dallas, shreveport, etc. ive gotten bad about keeping up with people. and ive learned the hard way, its always worth the effort when u do take the initiative to keep in touch with people.
